Abdelrahman started as a lifeguard many years ago and now leading one of the most successful sports companies in the UAE. His passion for coaching and a background in sports science have propelled him to nurture swimmers at all levels, resulting in national records and notable achievements. He is not just a coach but a mentor, committed to empowering youth through swimming.

Matt was a former Great British youth international swimmer, he has been coaching for 14 years and achieved his ASA/UKCC Level 3 coaching qualification back in 2008.

Having swam and coached at the prestigious Plymouth Leander in the UK he was part of a team that developed multiple international athletes across several years.

Matt then moved on to work with Melanie Marshal and Adam Peaty at City of Derby. Matt was then on the international scene having been hired as Director of Aquatics at Gems Education School in Nairobi, Kenya. Having also served as Head Coach of the Kenyan national team!

Kyle’s first love for swimming began from when he started to swim at the age of four. Kyle gradually progressed throughout learn to swim into squads, where he competed for UEA City Of Norwich Swimming Club at a regional level within the UK. He started teaching swimming at 17 years old and taught a lot of swimmers who ended up competing for his local club in the UK.

“I loved the challenge that swimming provided, having to push yourself to be your best and achieve new personal best times. I also had a great coach who I am very thankful for. I have multiple success with many swimmers improving their personal best times over the past 7 years. I strongly believe that swimming should be fun, and this is something I strongly value within my coaching. I also believe that technique is incredibly import and something I focus on a lot.

Coach Kyle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Recently completed the Surge Strength Dryland Certificate (S.S.D.C) and ASCA Level 5 certified.

Being a South African Regional Age Group Championship swimmer, UAE lifeguard champion, placed third in Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim 800m, and currently still competes in local competitions - Keziah has kept the sport of swimming at the center of her career path.

With almost 6 years of coaching in Dubai, she always strives to give her best and help her clients reach their full potential in every class.

Coach Takwa has 6 years of coaching experience and was I swimmer herself in her school years. She started to swim when she was 3 years old and progress into competitive swimming. Her main stroke was backstroke and freestyle. She enjoys teaching both children and adults and finds it rewarding to see the progress of her swimmers.

Taqwa holds Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education majoring in swimming.

Coach Ahmed has over 10 years of coaching experience, learnt how to swim at the age of four and since than swimming is his lifelong passion. He was a competitive swimmer for many years and moved into open water and finswimming.

“I love finswimming to this day! It is so much fun and it is completely different from competitive swimming! At my younger age, I enjoyed swimming especially backstroke – my main event was 200 backstroke. I am very excited to be a part of Apex Sports Academy and hopefully can grow an Olympian.”

Coach Talat is very passionate about working with children. He started his swimming career 12 years ago and absolutely loves it! “I teach swimming because I love workingwith kids. I firmly believe that every child should know how to swim and how to swim well. Swimming is not only fun activity and lifesaving skill, it helps to open horizons and see the world from a different perspective.”

He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, ASCA Level 2 and lifeguard certified.

An energetic swimming coach with 7 years of experience. He is passionate about improving technique and speed of anyone who comes in the pool. Coach Khater is dedicated to students and staff development. He has proudly contributed to the phenomenal success of the Emirates Junior Cup 3 years in a row. In addition, he participated in the FINA/IOC Olympic Solidarity Swimming Coaches Development Programme in Hamdan Sports Complex.

Coach Salah worked as a swimming teacher at Apex Sports Academy for 6 years and has 11 years of experience overall. “I worked as a swimming teacher for different ages and levels and really enjoy seeing my swimmers progressing and improving their skills. Abdulsalam has 15 years swimming teaching experience, 5 out of those with Apex Sports Academy. He learnt to swim at the age of four gradually progressing into competitive squad. His best strokes were breaststroke and backstroke. He was also a part of college swimming team. In later years, he developed himself in specialized training courses at the Faculty of Physical Education and earning Master’s Degree in Swimming.

“Swimming is life for me! I loved swimming since I was a kid. I have been always working with children and absolutely love it! My mission is to instill the love for swimming in every child and develop champion mindset, which is perfectly aligns with Apex Sports Academy vision”

Grant has a strong passion for teaching and coaching. He has been teaching for 5 years and coaching for 3 years. “I started competing when I was 8 years old. Represented Wales in numerous of competitions. My best achievements in swimming was breaking the Welsh championship records in 400 IM. What makes me passionate about being a swim teacher/coach is seeing my swimmers achieving their goals and progressing through all the levels and stages.”

Morgan always had a passion for any water related sports. She has been an open water lifeguard and rescuer at the young age.

Coach Kangeta, also known as Kengy, has been involved in swimming since 2007. From 2010 to 2017, Kengy was a member of the Tanzania national team, showcasing his commitment and dedication to the sport. As a national swimmer for 7 years, he represented his country with pride.

Kengy has also volunteered for ASCA swimming clinics, demonstrating his willingness to contribute to the swimming community. With 5 years of lifeguard experience and 3 years of teaching shadows, Kengy has developed a well-rounded understanding of water safety and instructional techniques.

Upon completing her ASCA Level 3 certification, Mehr set out on a mission to serve the local and international swimming community in a positive, energetic and supportive environment.

She started learning how to swim at the age of 3 and under the guidance of equally passionate and dedicated coaches, developed into a swimmer that competed in the USA, all of GCC, Egypt and India. This inspired Mehr to take her knowledge and love for swimming to teach and coach children of all ages while helping them reach their highest potential as a swimmer.

Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Coach Jade relocated to Dubai at a young age. Her journey in the UAE began with lifeguarding, where she quickly recognized the significance of this vital life skill. Motivated by a desire to promote safety and enjoyment in the water, Jade pursued certification as an ASA Level 2 Swimming Instructor.

With four years of experience coaching Learn to Swim and Junior Squads, Coach Jade is dedicated to imparting essential swimming skills to both children and adults. She values continuous learning and is actively working towards becoming a Performance Squad coach in the future, further expanding her expertise in the field.

Outside of swimming, Jade harbors a passion for various sports, including rugby, netball, and scuba diving. These diverse interests reflect her love for staying active and engaging in different physical activities.

Coach Jade's commitment to teaching swimming, combined with her enthusiasm for sports, contributes to her ability to create engaging and enjoyable experiences for her students.

Nadun began his lifeguarding career 6 years ago. Working in different environments such as recreational and surfing beaches, waterparks, and pools gave him an immense knowledge and experience on how to save human life.

“Throughout my lifeguarding experience I was able to save people’s lives. That’s the best achievement I’ve ever had!”

Nadun holds a Sports Science Diploma and lifeguard certified.

Coach Sunday is a passionate tennis coach with the ability to coach all skill levels from the beginner to the advanced player. He can explain specific techniques to students and teach them the correct form to use when serving the ball, proper swing, grip, stance and proper footwork. He has the ability to explain areas where students need improving while providing encouragement and motivating to push to their fullest potential.

Coach Sunday holds an MBA in Business Administration & Management. He is an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Advanced Level II certified Tennis Coach. Before joining the Apex Sports Academy, he had previously coached in UAE, Bulgaria, Holland and Nigeria where he worked as a Tennis coach to the National Junior male Under 12 -18 category and female Under 12 - 14 in the northern part of Nigeria.

Coach Anil started to play basketball at the age of 7 in Turkey and played for Turkish National Team in all categories in Youth Teams. He became professional at the age of 18 and played 13 seasons pro basketball in Turkish Professional Basketball League 1st and 2nd Divisions. He also attended the International Summer Professional Basketball League in Perugia, Italy in 2010 presenting Turkey.

During his professional career, he participated in International Coaching Seminars and earned his certificates for Basketball Coaching. Recently he attended the International Basketball Coaching Program held by Turkish Basketball Federation.

He speaks Turkish, English and German.

His goal with Apex Basketball Academy is to provide his knowledge about his professional basketball experience to children and help them improve their basketball skills, decision-making and fundamentals as well as reaching their ultimate goals of becoming a professional basketball player.

Coach Anil holds a Master’s Degree in Global Marketing.

Coach Divine is a former pro basketball player, plays basketball since his childhood. Starting his coaching career 3 years ago. He was playing more in Guard and Shooting Guard positions. He likes to handle the ball, shoot and create shots for his teammates. His goal is to forward his Guard skills with great ball handling, passing, shooting, and game vision to young athletes and push them to be better every single day.

“I love playing the sport equally as I love teaching it. For me, it is an opportunity to give back to my students what I have learnt from the sport both on and off the court.”

Coach Wendy is Taekwondo practitioner for 23 years, and a high performance coach, holding 4 Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, former athlete of the Colombian National Taekwondo team. She performed at national and international level and received numerous awards

“I am passionate about taekwondo because I like to educate the young and adult population through martial art. I like to teach and correct behaviors that turn the person into better human beings.”

Coach Wendy holds Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy, Black Belt, 4° dan (Kukkiwon).

Coach Isaiah, the head boxing coach at Apex Sports Academy, brings a wealth of experience to the field. With 15 years dedicated to boxing, he has represented his country in numerous championships during his career, participating in over 50 fights.

His journey in boxing has taken him to various clubs, where he was honored to serve as captain and head trainer. These roles provided him with valuable opportunities to refine his skills and develop a deeper understanding of the sport and coaching, ultimately leading him to professionalism.

As an expert in his field, Coach Isaiah firmly believes that with hard work and unwavering determination, anyone has the potential to become a champion in the world of boxing. He is committed to instilling these principles in his trainees and guiding them towards achieving their full potential.

I am Kailash, and I spread happiness by running awareness campaigns about sports and championships so that you will not miss out on participating to achieve your fitness goals. I come from a Sales and Digital Marketing background with tons of experience in the UAE e-commerce market, running campaigns to promote brands, and spreading happiness, which I love the most. Coach Todd came from a small town called Bournemouth on the south coast of the UK. Currently he is the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach at Apex Sports Academy.

“I am a highly qualified and experienced strength and conditioning coach who holds a Master’s degree and 6 years of coaching experience. My personal background is in swimming, where my greatest achievement in the sport is winning a gold medal at the British National Age-Group Championships. Since stopping swimming, I am enjoying the sport of weightlifting as a new hobby alongside my passion for coaching.”

In the last 6 years, Todd has helped athletes qualify for world championships and 15 year olds squat 100 kg, luckily, he’s come to Dubai to do the same for you!

Cheryl’s swimming journey started at school swimming lessons aged 6. She started swimming teaching at the age of 21 and has seen children start in stage 1, and progress up to a competitive level. She also specializes in baby and preschool swimming lessons. Cheryl became a tutor for swimming at the age of 25 and has trained people in the UK and China to become swimming teachers.

Cheryl previously worked for Olympic Gold medalist Rebecca Adlingtons Swim School with 27 swimming pools across the UK.

“I love teaching swimming and seeing children progress through the stages. Swimming is a valuable life skill and a great way to exercise, gain confidence and have fun. There is nothing more fulfilling than someone starting their swimming journey nervous and gaining confidence and being able to swim independently.”

Cheryl holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Development and is an STA Swimming Tutor.

Sara brings in 15 years of experience having taught in the military arm forces, a swim coach in an international fitness club, teaching toddlers through to adults.

Nothing is more rewarding for Coach Sara than to see her pupils with fear of water transform into a confident swimmer. “Swimming not only saves lives, it’s also actually fun!”
